Shabby Apple Review, Discount and Giveaway

Recently I was offered a dress to review from Shabby Apple.  If you haven't heard of Shabby Apple yet it's a wonderful site that offers modest and vintage style dresses, skirts, blouses and accessories.  If you visit Shabby Apple and click on About Us this is what you'll find:

"At Shabby Apple, we believe in both femininity and feminism. As feminine women, we create clothing that is artful in design and crafted with a vintage-style flare. Each piece is carefully constructed to both flatter a women’s figure and maintain her mystery. As feminists, we created a company that is women-owned and operated and that donates to help other women start their own businesses. With our old-fashioned style and modern ideals, we believe the best is yet to come!"

If you are anything like me, this is the place for you.  As I surfed through all of the dresses that were available, I was in my element.  I was picturing wearing this dress to a picnic this summer and that dress to the holiday party.  Then I could see myself in another dress heading out for a much needed girls night out.  Shabby Apple has so many styles for every body type.

This being my first dress from Shabby Apple I was very nervous.  Their sizing chart is easy to follow and they offer tips in the sizing for some of the dresses, however, ordering from a store site unseen for the first time is a little nerve wracking.

The dress that caught my attention was called the Dressage, shown below from Shabby Apple.  It was shown on a model and by itself.  The colors were different.  I was a little nervous about this also because I really liked the color on the model and I wasn't fond of the dress by itself.  The dress arrived and thankfully it was the color I had hoped for.  If you aren't sure about the color of the dress you like, I would always go by the dress shown in natural light, as it was shown on the model.

My sizing was on the border of small and medium.  I wear an 8 to 10, closer to a 10 but some 10s are way too big for me.  I took my chances based on the sizing chart and the tips provided and ordered a small.  The dress fits!  Yay for me that I'm in a size small dress, woo hoo!  The dress is a bit on the snug size but we'll be fixing that over the next few weeks with my New Year's Resolution (wink).

I felt so regal in this dress.  I felt so pretty and witty and gay! And I pitied any girl who wasn't me that day.  On Shabby Apple's site it was shown with beautiful white gloves and some boots.  However, I wore it with some beautiful white pearls and some nude heels.  I added a sparkly belt for fun.

Check out Shabby Apple's site and save 10% with code "Couponcodename10off" through January 10, 2013.

Update as of January 5th - for a limited time only, Shabby Apple is offering 20% off sitewide.  Use code NewYears.

One Lucky Winner will win a $50 Gift Certificate to Shabby Apple!
