Mineral Hygienics Review

If you have been following my blog for a decent amount of time you know that I am trying to use more all natural products in my life.  In my 100 day challenge I switched to natural foods, as in a lot more fruits of vegetables, which I have to admit were not on my menu much before then.  I also chose not to wear make up often for 100 days and I only wore make up once during that challenge. 

Personally it was more the make up I was wearing and how it made my skin feel that has made me want to wear it less.  That and the fact that I wanted to learn to love myself for me and not who I wanted to be.  I do love myself for me and am now who I thought I should be at that time.  I am amazing and I want to be me now. 

 

So, now that I'm past this stage and have learned to love myself I find myself not wearing make up too often now since I am used to the liquid foundations that are very stuffy.  They feel like a coating on my face and I just don't like it anymore.  In addition to feeling like I've coated my face I'm not really sure what is in these products but I'm pretty sure there are chemicals and other ingredients that I don't want to include in my life anymore.  I don't think some people realize that just because you don't ingest it doesn't mean it doesn't get absorbed into your body.

When I came across Mineral Hygienics I was ecstatic that they agreed to let me do a review.  Not only is everything all natural but the foundation that I was sent feels like there's nothing at all on my face!  I usually feel like the foundation I put on evens out my tone but it also ages me.  Not Mineral Hygienics, it not only evens my tone and covers up my imperfections but it brightens my skin and I think it erases a few years. 

I was sent the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush, Fairly Light Mineral Foundation, Light Mineral Foundation, Silk Translucent Finishing Powder and Cool Kiss Bronzer.  I love the fact that I can go to the Ingredients page of Mineral Hygienics and find out exactly what is in the product that I am considering.  I can even pronounce all of the words.   The products are sweat and water resistant.  They are also a chemical free sunblock.  I've been wearing the make up for about 2 weeks now.  I can't tell you how much I love it. 

I'm not that familiar with mineral make up, I tend to lean towards the liquid foundation.  So I really like that with the product came an instruction manual.  It gave me a few tips and I suggest that you follow them.  One of the tips was that it take a bit for the minerals to warm up to your skin and you should remember that a little bit of minerals go a long way.  I didn't use that tip the first time I tried it, you could tell that I was wearing a foundation that day, lesson learned. 

I love the finishing powder.  In the booklet that came with my products I read that I can also use this as a primer, so I did.  It helps to fill in cracks, lines, wrinkles and pores in the skin's upper layers.  It evens out the skin's surface texture to make it smooth.  It will also help the minerals last through the day and into the night.  Boy is that true!  I am away from my house for over 12 hours a day when I work and on Thursdays I go straight to church after work so I don't get home for 15 hours.  My eye liner may smudge but my foundation looks as great when I get home as it does when I leave home.

 

I used the bronzer once.  It's winter right now so it's not the look that I would go for, however spring is coming up quickly.  I love the subtle look of the bronzer and the fact that I can build on it.  I used it to give myself just a natural sun kissed look.  I didn't want to look like I just got home from the beach.  I wanted to look as though I haven't been stuck inside all winter long and it was the perfect amount for that look.

There are so many products from Mineral Hygienics that I want to try now!  After just getting a taste of it I definitely want more.   The product that I need is the Multi-Tasker Under Eye Concealer!  With having 3 children you know that I don't often get to sleep through the night!  So I have dark circles all the time.  Plus they have such great shades of blush and eye shadows.  What one make up product do you use most?
