Moby GO Review

If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that FB stands for “Fat Baby.”  I’m sorry, I truly hope that doesn’t offend anyone. I in no way shape or form think my daughter is overweight. She’s just a big baby and after holding her for hours you would call her a fat baby too!

She’s a bit on the spoiled side and I take full responsibility for this. When she was smaller I searched for a comfortable baby carrier and had no luck. With her roundness it was difficult to place her in a traditional carrier and I’ll just say that I had a little roundness myself that was causing some issues with all of the comfort levels. I was lucky enough to do a review of the Moby Wrap and problem solved! I loved it and so does FB. It may have taken a little time to wrap it around me but not much at all.

I’m not sure if the designers at Moby are used to, let’s say plump babies or not, but they have come up with an amazing carrier other than their wrap designed for larger babies! The Moby GO is awesome! It is like a traditional baby carrier, so if the wrap has turned you off to Moby, you should check out the Moby Go. As soon as it arrived I tore into the box as if I were getting a drug fix, since I had FB in my arms for a while now and the Moby Wrap I have was in the laundry.

The Moby GO is designed for babies from 15 – 45 lbs. As I’m writing this I’m wondering if I can fit my almost 5 year old in it (since she isn’t 45 lbs yet). Diva weighs just 41 lbs, she will be 5 in May.  You may have your answer before you finish this review.

The name is perfect for this carrier. The Moby GO, it is a perfect description since it took me 90 seconds to get it on, put FB in it and adjust it to my comfort. FB seemed to be happy too and I could start getting things done around my house again! You throw on the Moby GO and you GO! That simple! I can’t explain it either but it makes my back feel amazing.  The wide straps must distribute the weight so perfectly, I can barely tell that my 4, almost 5, year old is in the Moby GO.

There is a very large cushioned strap that goes across your lower back. I think it has to do with the size of the strap, the weight of the baby pulling on it, the cushion and the placement but I don’t know. That strap relieves any back pain I may be having and then some. I actually want to wear this Fat Baby when she is happy being on her own now!

Another feature that I like is the hooded pocket. There is a zippered pocket on the front of the carrier that holds a hood for your little one. The hood is removable and attaches with Velcro. I love that it’s built right in, so if I am out and about and the wind kicks up or the temperature starts to drop I can just throw it over FB’s head and know she has a little added protection. I also love it because I can take it out and when we are walking, and come spring and summer time I can put my keys or phone or whatever in that pocket.

Now let's go back to Diva.  Yes, my almost 5 year old sits comfortably in the Moby GO!  My almost 5 year old that doesn't fit comfortably in a lot of strollers fits comfortably in the Moby GO baby carrier!  Please ignore all the band aides on her face, she really isn't beat-up, she got hurt by Drama this morning playing and band aides do truly fix everything in this house, so we put them everywhere!

To Moby, thank you for being the best!  Thank you for never cutting corners and always making sure your products stand out.

The folks at Moby have outdone themselves with the Moby GO!  It's truly an amazing product and I recommend it to all mamas and daddies!   I love looking down to see this!

Please forgive me for all the inside pictures.  It's been unreasonably cold around here and if we didn't have to take FB anywhere we didn't.  So, I am getting cabin fever pretty bad right now and really need spring to get here.

WOW! I totally need one of those, my 3 yo doesn't fit well in his stroller, so he wants to be carried everywhere...however 37 pounds is just too much for me! I also babysit a tiny little 2 year old who loves to be carried everywhere and I get nothing done unless he's sleeping!
