Blogiversary Lesson #1: A little Luxury Goes a Long Way

I first discovered Pretty Woman (the fragrance, not the Movie or the song) Perfume by Barbara Orbison online. The description of the scent and the timeless black and gold packaging seemed like something I would really enjoy. It wasn't until I had the products in my hands that I realized this small touch of elegance would make a world of difference in my home. I received the Pretty Woman Perfume "On The Go" and Black Candle Bundle.

The "On The Go" portion of this bundle is 3 large sized travel spritzers. Packages in a beautiful matchbook style box, these are like opening up a small gift each time I reach for these. The scent of the Pretty Woman fragrance is so complex. It's feminine, earthy, airy and musky all in a drop of this oil. This scent lingers for hours making it perfect for a women who is indeed on the go.

"Like the notes of a song, the notes of Pretty Women Perfume open to reveal a complex melody of florals, spices and woods. It's crisp, luminous bergamot top note evolves to reveal a full, vivacious middle note accord of stargazer lilly, red rose and carnation. The fragrance's base note accord of fresh amber, patchouli, vanilla, atlas cedar and sacred incense combine with a lingering everlasting warmth and harmony."

The feminine florals in the fragrance have a lovely spice to them, keeping this fresh and fun without being too sweet or too strictly meant for Spring. I can certainly wear this into the fall and winter.

Also included in the bundle is what has to be one of the best candles I've ever owned. I love the colors, sleek black with gold lettering, the scent (the same stunning Pretty Woman Fragrance) and the slow and steady, even burn of this candle. It's easy to find a candle that smells "nice" but what's more rare is a candle that disperses a fragrance into a space easily and lingers. This candle lets off no smoke and burns down easily. (I can't be the only one who hates when a candle burns down just the middle and collapses in on itself!)

Overall, the presentation and the scent of these stunning scented products added a little luxury to my home (where I burned my candle) and anywhere I decided to take my convenient perfume minis. It's hard not to feel like the most beautiful women in the room when you smell like a sweet cloud of alluring mystery.

Don't just take my word for it! One lucky reader will win their very own One The Go Bundle from Pretty Woman! Enter below for your chance to win!

Blogiversary Lesson #2: Never pay full price for Glasses

This lesson might seem silly to those of you who coupon and follow bloggers who teach you amazing ways to save money, but I’ll have to bear my soul for a minute and say it: I used to pay full price (sometimes inflated prices at the “eye doctor”) for my glasses. I just never realized there was any other way! I would get my eyes checked, listen to the doctor about what types of lenses I needed and then pick my favorite pair from the wall. With insurance, the whole thing probably cost me around $75 or so, without insurance…well, I don’t even want to think about that! Let’s just say, I was ignorant. Then I discovered Firmoo.

Blogiversary Lesson #3: I can save the planet, one Skoy Cloth at a time

Maybe I’m not helping feed the hungry, which would be my #1 goal if I ever became an activist and really did all I could to help make the world a better place, but with Skoy (and a few other brands we’ll be visiting during this event), I’m doing my part to reduce my waste. The Skoy Cloth is an amazing, reusable, washable mashup between a paper towel and a sponge. It’s sturdy, durable and easily takes the place of two products. My family has been using Skoy Cloths for nearly a year now and I couldn’t go back to paper towels and crumbling sponges if I wanted to!
One Skoy Cloth replaced upto 15 rolls of paper towel and once you are finished with your Skoy Cloth, it will break down in only 5 weeks in the landfill. That makes Skoy Cloths a good idea for your home, budget and the planet.

Blogiversary Lesson #4: If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Tatcha skin care has really changed the way I look at skin care. While there are always “modern advances” in skin care and cosmetics, Tatcha uses century old Japanese skin care secrets such as Red Algae, Green Tea and Rice Bran and with a touch of modern science, extracts the most important parts of these natural elements to create skin care that is natural. When you think of Japanese beauty, you might think of a Geisha, with pale, soft skin. With Tatcha, you can achieve the same flawless complexion using some old tricks. Green Tea and Red Algae have with part of the Geisha’s skin care ritual forever so I say, if it’s not broken, leave it be!

Blogiversary Lesson #5: All Sippy cups are NOT created Equal!

With two toddlers, our search for the perfect sippy cup was not an easy one. I’ve got two very different toddlers when it comes to their sippy cups needs. I have one who enjoys throwing his cup and another who is a cup-cuddler. BUT either way you slice it, I’ve always been looking for one important trait in a sippy cup- spill proof. It seems that every cup on the market boasts it’s “leak-proof seal” or “spill spoof design” but if you’ve got toddlers drinking from sippy cups, you know that is just NOT true. It wasn’t until I snagged a Facebook freebie for one sippy cup from USA Kids that I discovered a TRUE spill proof cup.

Blogiversary Lesson #6: I CAN get a natural looking tan from a bottle

Happy Sunday everyone! Have you missed me? I took the day off yesterday for some family time and some good ‘ol Cooperate work (did you all know I have a new part time job?! It’s pretty fun!) and after spending most of today out in the sun with family, I remembered a very exciting review and giveaway I needed to post for you all!
Naturally, I’m one of the whitest people I know. For my MAC loving friends, I wear the shade NC15 which is actually really hard to find because it’s so fair. I can tan pretty easily, but between blogging, part time work at a makeup retailer and life with my boys (the husband included) – I just do NOT have time to soak up the rays. Tanning in a tanning bed is something I’ve tried once in my life and while I liked it all right, I hated feeling like I needed to go everyday to get my money worth of tan. It’s just EXPENSIVE. A few month’s back, I entered a drawing to win a a tanning product fromBeauitsol. I won and I’m been hooked on their products ever since!

The Julia Roberts/Richard Gere movie comes to mind when I think about Pretty Woman, of course! Julia Roberts was my mom's favorite actress when I was growing up, so I've seen the movie more times than I care to recall. Still love it, though!!

Both look great, but I think I'm most excited to try The Scrub!

What is lacking is my lack of discipline. I'll admit, I don't wash my face most nights before I go to bed!
