Girls' Night Out at Boogie Nights

If you are a mama, chances are you don't get to see your girlfriends as often as you'd like.  Well, if you are married, chances are you don't see them often either.  I rarely get to see my girls.  I mean, I see my bestie at church every Sunday but outside of that not very often.  My sister in law, who's one of my besties too, lives less than a five minute walk away and I never get to see her!

So, when Boogie Nights invited me to a Girls' Night Out I screamed "YES!"  Now, I'm not a big drinker, but I use to keep up with the pros.  Since I worked at a dance club for years I would basically be paid to drink, dance and make sure the patrons were having fun.  Talk about a fun gig! I never felt like I was working.

Sorry, I was dancing while taking the picture.

It has been 10 years or so since I've been to a dance club though.  I've been out in the nightlife scene here and there but not often and usually at a hole in the wall little place.  This was, however, a chance to get out and have a good time with my girls!  We could catch up on our lives and dance.  Oh, how I miss dancing!  Dancing is an awesome way to relieve stress and not to mention get fit.  I've been working on that lately too, not enough apparently though.

We arrived and gave the girl at the front our names.  We were then greeted by a roller girl and escorted down a large escalator to a VIP booth just off the light up dance floor.  When I say booth I'm not talking about a restaurant style booth.  I'm talking about a room with curtains for privacy.  It had a couch, a bench, a chair, two tables, a very large t.v. and a picture window to watch the dance floor.  It was AWESOME!  We also had some wonderful servers taking care of us.  Whatever we needed they made sure we got it and quick.

I really do enjoy dancing.  I love to go out with my girlfriends and dance all night long.  At least I used to love dancing all night long.  I really can't dance more than 10 straight minutes anymore without being out of breath.  Kind of sad I know but I'll take it when I can.  I forgot how much I truly like dancing.  The best part is being goofy and having a blast with my girls!  I've acquired so many new friends and have been able to hang on to old friends for nearly 20 years.  I will take every chance I can to go out and have a great time with them.

I haven't even told you the best part of Boogie Nights.  It's a 70's and 80's dance club.  Yes, that's right, forget about the stuff that's played now, it's all about the good ol'days!  I wasn't even around in the 70's but I do love the music from that decade.  It's about having a good time.  I'm sure there were stresses during that time but I don't think there were stresses like in today's world.  Everyone was focused on fun.  It was a more laid back time.  Can I just tell you how much I've always wanted to be a Roller Girl?  I wonder if I can get a job there.

So, the night that we went we were given a show by Prince.  Is it the Artist Formerly Known as Prince?  I can't keep up anymore, not that I ever could.  No, I'm sorry to disappoint, it was an impersonator, but it was still a fabulous show.  I cannot say enough just how much I had a great time!  I really needed a Girls' Night Out and I got that!  Every single one of my girlfriends had a blast also, we've all decided that we will be going back.

Boogie Nights primarily has a crowd over the age of 30.  That's awesome!  I mean, I remember being a young 20 something girl and having a good time, but I also know that there were times when I was way too immature to be out and probably ruined a few good nights for others.  I also don't want to feel like a mom when I am out with my girlfriends.  I want to just focus on having fun and being goofy with them, not on the younger crowd getting too excited or not really knowing how to act in public.

So, Ladies, are you looking to catch up with your girlfriends and need a place to dance the night away? Try Boogie Nights, it really was fantastic.  We had a ball!
