Great Wolf Lodge - Wolf Your World Tour

Recently Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Ohio invited the Messy Family to the Wolf Your World Tour.  I was so excited and could barely wait. I mean really, it couldn't get here fast enough.  Most of the time we surprise the girls with fun stuff to do but this was big and I couldn't keep the secret.  My family had never been to Great Wolf Lodge, even though we were just a short drive away.  I mean, I could go for a few hours or even just lunch; we are that close.  I always thought the prices were too high to be honest.  After having been there though, I don't feel that way at all.  There is so much to do at Great Wolf Lodge it's
ridiculous!

There were six of us:  two adults (mid to late 30's), two teenagers (14 and 15 years old) and two young children (5 and 6 years old).  There wasn't a dull moment.  At no point in time was any one person bored.   I did feel comfortable enough with the Lodge to let the teenagers run around on their own.  I also felt safe enough to leave my 5 and 6 year olds with the teenagers in the water park.  They are very responsible teenagers but I wouldn't normally trust many people with my children around a pool.  However, there was a lifeguard on duty in every direction.  They were all attentive and very friendly.  One even took a few minutes to reassure my 5 year old that the water slide she was afraid of would give her nothing but joy.

So, if you haven't heard of Great Wolf Lodge let's give you the rundown:

"Your Great Wolf Lodge adventure begins in our massive, 84-degree indoor water park. Splash the day away in over 79,000 square feet of water-packed excitement, including jaw-dropping slides for thrill seekers or zero-depth entry areas for little ones. Outside the water park, the fun continues. Grab a wand and battle a dragon in MagiQuest or get an ice cream-themed manicure in Scooops Kid Spa before gathering your family in our Grand Lobby for nightly fireside Story Time, the perfect ending to a Great Wolf day."

We had dinner at the Loose Moose Cottage's buffet and it was delicious!  There was everything from Filet Mignon to pizza.  The food was exceptional and the service was wonderful.  Before dinner the girls stayed entertained coloring in the activity area.

We took the tour outside for a little dance party!

We had a really great time at the Howl at the Moon Glow Golf (a glow in the dark miniature golf course).  Is it sad that I only beat my 5 year old by two strokes?

At 8:00 pm there was story time at the Great Clock Tower.  A Messy Tip:  show up by 7:30 if your kids want to be in the front.  We showed up at 7:45 pm and it was so packed there were barely places to stand and get pictures.  The kids all loved it though, so it will be well worth it, I promise.

During the Wolf Your World Tour all six characters attended, which has never happened before.  We got to meet Wiley the Wolf, Violet the Wolf, Oliver Raccoon and the newest characters Brinley Bear, Rachel Raccoon,  and Sammy the Squirrel!  Violet the Wolf was by far the favorite of my girly girls!

I was sad that I didn't get to see one of the suites, since they were fully booked, but our room wasn't boring by any means.  We may not have had a Wolf Den or a Kid Cabin Suite but we did have a Family Suite and there was plenty of room.  The ceilings (we were on the top floor) were vaulted and must have been 20 feet high at its peak.  There was a half wall between the sofa and the beds.  We put the teenagers on the sofa bed so that they had a little privacy.

Not that they were in the room much.  One thing I really liked about the Lodge was the signs posted every where about how the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00 am were "hibernation hours" and everyone needed to be quiet.  That is not something you see much of in resorts.

I didn't get woken up at all while sleeping, which is unusual.  I am not a heavy sleeper. The beds were very comfortable and the set up of the room made me feel welcome.

The next day we spent most of the day (after checking out) at the indoor water park.
We had pizza for lunch at Hungry As A Wolf.  One pizza fed all six of us with some left over.  After playing in the water park for a little while we hit up Bear Paws Sweets & Eats for some dessert!  Oh my goodness, the peanut butter fudge should not be passed up!

We didn't get the chance to play in the Northern Lights Arcade but it looks spectacular.  There are mini bowling lanes that I plan to hit up the next time we visit.  I said I plan to hit up the next time we visit because there will certainly be a next time and several more visits after that.  As I stated before, I felt it was too much money to spend on a hotel, but it's so much more than just a place to go and visit.  It will be worth it for your family to visit.  A bonus about the Mason location is that its neighbors with King's Island Amusement Park.  I suggest you plan a week long visit or at least several days, and on one of those days hop over to King's Island.  Don't spend too much time there, you'll miss out on all the fun things to do at Great Wolf Lodge.  Plus, plan on staying Sunday - Thursday to save a little money.

A few other to do's for our next visit is a little time at Scoops Spa and MagiQuest.  Check in to your local Great Wolf Lodge and see what activities are planned.  I think you should visit the Mason location and invite the Messy Family to come out and play.

Wolf Your Wolf Tour Schedule - make sure to enter to win a stay for you and 25 of your closest friends.  I know I am trying to win, that would be spectacular!  I think my list of 25 closest friends is already at 54...hmmm, this might turn into a problem if I won!

This looks like so much fun! We have an indoor water park here in NY, too, but I don't think it's quite as awesome as The Great Wolf. Seems like it's worth the money!

Great run-down. We have taken our children to Great Wolf several times and there was always lots to do for each of their age groups which is saying a lot since my children's ages are spread apart by 10 years.

Wow, I've never seen an indoor water park quite like that! This looks like the perfect family-friendly place to take a vacation. I also really like the idea of "hibernation time" as I'm sure all parents can appreciate that!

Yes, Filet Mignon! My fave. I once was turned down for a job at Disney because I missed a question on the pre hire test to be a maid...I didn't know you should fold a towel into an animal. Oh well.
