Introducing Messy Mama Christy

Hey there everyone! My name is Christy, and I am thrilled to announce that Amy has invited me to contribute to Confessions of a Messy Mama. I stay home with my kids, and according to many people this means that my home should be immaculate, and if it isn't, I must spend my days watching soap operas and eating bon bons. Oh so very far from the truth! My house is a mess, the only shows playing on our television are cartoons, and typically the only things I have time to eat are crust off someone's PB&J or the leftover mac & cheese (straight from the pot).

Making the decision to quit my full time job and stay home with my kids a few years ago was not an easy one.  My husband agreed to cut back on golf outings, eat generic store brand food, and play hair dresser when my grey hairs get unruly and I can’t justify spending the big bucks at the salon. We live a simple life, but it’s the life I love. I made a promise to myself on my first day as a stay at home mom to always be in the moment with my babies. So that is just what I’m doing; making messes and memories all day with my two boys and our princess. I never want to take being home for granted or grow old and say, I wish I had appreciated the younger years more.  I KNOW that one day I will actually miss this mess, so for now the cleaning will wait; I have mud pies to make and glitter to spill all over the floors.

This is the most recent family photo we have, so for now we'll call it "Christmas in July" ;-)

I'd like to introduce you to my four favorite people in this whole wide world, my crazy crew, the Messy Family Number 2. First we have my dear, sweet husband, Mr. Clean. He works so very hard, and the way he loves our kids makes me love him more each day. He has the biggest heart of anyone I know, and I couldn't imagine “doing life” with anyone else. His only downfall…after 6 plus years of this parenting gig, he still has a hard time with the toy tornado that hits our house every day. Thankfully, he knows better than to complain about the mess too much! Next up is our super smart 6 year old know-it-all, the future paleontologist; Dino JB. Middle Man is our crazy cute, 4 year old boy, who is very opinionated and strong willed. He’s the one who steals the heart of anyone he meets, yet in the comfort of our home, knows how to stir up trouble and push mama’s buttons. Lastly we have Princess Tomboy. She is three years old; and while she loves her baby dolls and sparkly shoes, she is also the first one digging in the dirt as soon as we step outside. She is a sassy little lady, who keeps up with her two big brothers, but can flash a sweet smile and bat her eyes to have her daddy and me under her spell in a second.

Our home is loud and messy, and we typically make a scene wherever we go. I’m hoping you will all be entertained by our shenanigans, and that maybe some of you can even relate. If anything, I know you’ll get a good laugh every once in a while!

I am so excited to be a part of Confessions of a Messy Mama, so I’d like to end with a big thank you to Messy Mama Amy for bringing me on board!
