I was given the opportunity to do my first movie review from Phase 4 Films. It’s a kid’s movie and it sounded like a movie that Drama and Diva would like, so I took a chance. Drama being a T.V. junkie of course was super excited when I told her that we were going to be watching this movie. Diva isn’t as big of a T.V. junkie as Drama, she could take it or leave it and sometimes when we finally sit down to watch a new release, or at least a new to my kids, release she will go off and play instead of watching the movie.
Let me introduce you to the main character first. Horrid Henry is a boy who always seems to find himself in sticky situations. There is a book series out on this character and I’m so glad I was introduced to him. The girls (Drama and Diva) and I read these stories at bedtime and we all laugh out loud. It’s a series of stories that I don’t think I will ever get tired of. For the review I was given the movie and one of the books, which has 4 short stories, and I’ve already acquired 2 more of the short story books. I am in love with this character and he has almost become part of our family. Don’t get me wrong, we are crazy about the other characters also.
Plot synopsis: When Henry fails yet again to hand in his homework for the umpteenth time, he inadvertently sets off an unexpected and curious chain of events. He forms an unlikely alliance with Moody Margaret, the infuriating girl next door, wins a talent contest, and stands up to his ultimate nemesis. With each antic crazier than the last, Henry finds himself inexplicably trying to save the very school which he has always professed to hate!
With a run time of 93 minutes, the movie is rated PG for some silly humor, and features a rocking soundtrack including Katy Perry, The Saturdays and LMFAO’s Party Rick Anthem and will be sure to get everyone on their feet dancing!
Watching Horrid Henry The Movie my girls could barely sit still watching the movie. They were acting out scenes along with Henry and the rest of the cast. This is the only non-animated film that my 4 and 6 year olds have seemed to fall in love with. I am quit tired of cartoons if you ask me so I welcome the change.
Horrid Henry The Movie is available at Walmart on March 12th, 2013.
