Messy Mama Christy here with my very first review since joining Confessions of a Messy Mama. I was so excited to get to try and review the Pro Kit from Red Carpet Manicure. As a mother of three little ones, I had actually given up on my nails several years ago. Being a stay at home mom, going to get my nails done at the salon just isn't in the budget. I used to try to paint my nails at home but inevitably I would bump them on something before they were dry or a tiny little hand would grab them while they were still wet. Once they did dry (with bumps and clumps of course) my polish would chip by the end of the day. I gave up, and figured I would have unpolished, unattractive nails until my kids were grown. I also received the Tangerine on the Rocks LED gel polish, which I chose to use for my first RCM gel polish application. As I mentioned before, I had given up on my nails. No polish looks better than chipped, right?? I had gotten a gel polish manicure done for a friend's wedding once and LOVED it! It was the first time since I had children that my manicure lasted for more than two weeks! However, I don't have the time or the money to get a manicure at the salon as regularly as I should to maintain beautiful nails. So I was excited to change the future for my fingernails with the Red Carpet Manicure Gel Polish Pro Kit.
Before
The instructions that come with the RCM Pro Kit are very easy to follow and super informative. There were many tips on what to do and not do throughout the process. Then in 3 STEPS my nails looked more beautiful than they have in about 4 years. I followed the 3 steps; Preparation, Care & Color, and Finish. Essentially you clean your nails, apply the gel and color (with minimal drying time under the LED light), and then finish the application process with a cleanser.
After
The whole process was quick, and I only imagine it will be even faster as I get better at applying the polish! My nails were completely DRY right at the end of Step 3, and they looked gorgeous! I have had several people comment on my nails and ask where I had them done. Middle Man even complimented my nails the other day, "Mama, your nails look so cute! It makes you look like a real lady!!" So thanks to RCM Gel Polish Pro Kit, I was able to achieve a salon looking manicure many years before I had imagined. I applied the gel polish almost a week ago, and I can tell that the clean, polished look will stay for at least another week. I'm shocked the manicure has held up with no chips at all!
Just to give you an idea of what my nails have been through this week...the usual messy duties that come with being a mom, keeping up with the weekly housekeeping (laundry, dishes, toilet scrubbing, etc.), as well as swimming, pulling weeds, scraping dried banana off the wall, and an attempt to dig the China with the kids. So my and nails have been through the wringer but STILL look amazing after almost a week!! See for yourself...
What is your nail care and color routine? Do you get regular manicures and pedicures? Have you given up on your nails like I had? Maybe you put up with chipped polished not-so "quick dry" polish.
