Chicken Soup for the Soul: Billy Graham & Me + Win It!

Chances are many of you are familiar with the Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books. According to Harris Polls, 88.7 percent of the public not only recognizes the Chicken Soup for the Soul brand, but knows what it is. For those of you who are not familiar with the series; the Chicken Soup books feature short inspirational stories and essays. The books are meant to be “good for your soul” like chicken soup is good for your body when you are sick. The first Chicken Soup for the Soul book; Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul, was published in 1993. Personally, I read Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul a few short years after it was published, and have read multiple other Chicken Soup books since.

The latest Chicken Soup for the Soul book that I had the pleasure of reading was Chicken Soup for the Soul: Billy Graham & Me. The book is a collection of 101 inspiring personal stories from presidents, pastors, performers, family, friends, and other people who knew Bill Graham well.

Renowned Evangelical preacher Billy Graham has touched tens of millions of lives, inspiring faith and hope around the world. And you will get to know the beloved preacher better in these inspiring, personal stories by the people who know him best. This book contains 101 fascinating stories from all the living U.S. presidents, well-known pastors, country singers and other celebrities, and world leaders, relating their own experiences with Billy Graham. You will meet the real Billy Graham, the man behind the public figure.

Being a busy mom of three, and a recent college graduate, I hardly have time to read for pleasure. When I do, I find Chicken Soup for the Soul books to be just what I need. The way the books are laid out as a collection of short stories, makes it easy to pick up when I have the time. I kept my copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Billy Graham & Me in my purse so I had it with me whenever I had a free minute to read; whether it was waiting at the doctor’s office, riding in the car (while my husband was driving of course!), or sitting in the backyard while my kids played; I would read a few short stories here or there. Each story I read was uplifting. Whether you are a Billy Graham fan or not, I believe the stories shared by those close to him will inspire you.

Just like chicken soup, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Billy Graham & Me was good for my soul. I loved picking it up whenever I found a few free minutes over the last couple weeks. I learned a lot about Billy Graham, and felt inspired and uplifted with each and every story.

When I am feeling like reading, I usually just go to my bedroom and open the book I have at the time. I love a good novel.

When my kids are in bed is when I break out my Kindle and read. :)
