This was not our first trip to Build a Bear and every time we have enjoyed ourselves. Really, this is a must for any little girl and I do know of several little boys that enjoy themselves too! The first thing to expect when you arrive is that you are in charge. Well, let’s be serious here, your little one is in charge. After selecting the Ponies they liked best, they’ll need to build them. Are all My Little Ponies girls? I’m not sure about that question. I do believe that our My Little Ponies are girls though.
So, basically the girls decided whether they wanted to build Princess Twilight Sparkle or Rainbow Dash. Both Diva and Drama were excited about building them and couldn’t wait to get that party started. After choosing their My Little Ponies, they were asked if they wanted their My Little Ponies to have sounds. There was a large selection of sound choices but of course both girls chose the My Little Pony theme song. Then they were taken to the Stuffer, I’m not 100% sure about the correct name (maybe I should have asked that question), to stuff their My Little Ponies.
They were asked if they wanted them to be soft and squeezable or if they wanted them to be firm enough to stand on their own. Drama and Diva both wanted them to stand on their own. However, before the girls could stuff them they were made to promise to love them and take care of them forever. Then they place a heart inside and stuffed away. The employee actually handles the stuffing part, so you don’t have to worry about your little one breaking the Stuffer.
Mini Spike the Dragon was premade so she didn’t get to stuff him. However, she did enjoy running around trying to make the store implode. I think I imploded just a little, so I guess it was a success for her in a way. Just because she didn’t get to stuff Spike doesn’t mean he didn’t need a bath like the others.

After the stuffing process the dolls all need to be bathed and taken care of before they can be dressed properly. As if this was not enough fun, now the party really gets going. After stuffing and bathing you must (well, not must) pick out clothing for your new loved one. You don’t have to get clothing but you can and it’s super fun. After picking out just the right outfit the adoption process can get started.
The girls went over to the computer stations, where they filled out the birth certificates for Princess Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. The birth certificates are printed and put into the big brown house (box) with the newest adopted member of your family and you get to take them home. I love Build a Bear, but more importantly my girls do even more. They can’t stop talking about it and want to go back every day. Angie was our Builder (that’s what we’ll call her – it sounds better than staff) from Build a Bear and couldn’t have been more pleasant to be around. She made the trip so much more than just stuffing a My Little Pony and all of my girls adored her. She was more than patient and accommodating to them. Simply put, she was amazing!
The Messy Family gives Build a Bear six thumbs up…FB can’t really get them up by herself just yet, that’s why it’s not eight. I highly recommend taking a trip to Build a Bear on a lazy afternoon or for a fun event. It’s something that your child will remember and talk about forever. At least mine won’t stop talking about it. They absolutely love Princess Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash and Mini Spike the Dragon. Thank you Build A Bear for so much fun!

I just passed by a Build a Bear store in a mall I was in a couple of weeks ago--I almost went in --but since I do not have any little girls to buy for--oh well--but from what I hear I may have a niece come February!
I absolutely build a bear, I even got one too when the boys got theirs. Although yous store is massive in comparison to where we went.
This is one of those things that my daughter wanted to do, but was not able to do it. We were back in the Philippines then. I guess, I had no money to pay for it. :-(
